Pik-cha to da Max

I meant to put up the “after” photos of the new hound a couple weeks ago and just never took the time. His lineage seems to be mostly Schnauzer, with some other terrier mixed in. A lady at the dog park today thought she saw in him the Scottish Terrier from “Lady and the Tramp”. Could be. The way he looked when I found him, he probably should be named Tramp.

We’re progressing pretty well as a team, though I’ll spare most of the details. Apparently my recent interest in dog behavior has made me more annoying than Cesar himself. I’m taking him on the mile walk to the dog park as often as I can to socialize him. He had a sort of breakthrough the other day when a couple brought their pack of 4 youthful Basenjis—good looking dogs that Max got along with well. Before we left he was running full tilt from fence to fence in the park and having a great time. Very content on the walk home.

I still can’t get him to stand still in the alert pose that makes him look so good, but here are a few shots the day we got back from the groomers.
